Kevin Durant

He is a 7 -foot monster who can do it all on the court. He can dribble, shoot, pass you name it. He had a good season at Texas where he spent one year playing for them from 2006 to 2007. Kevin Durant averaged 25.8 points, 11.1 rebounds, and 1.3 assists. He shot 47% from the field and shot a good 40% from the 3 point line. He was drafted in 2007 as the 2nd pick to the SuperSonics. He would later on play nine seasons with the Oklahoma City Thunder, then leave to play with the golden state warriors where he would win two championships and 2 finals MVP’s.

Tristan Thompson

He is a 6 – foot 10 center for the Cleveland Cavilers. He played for Texas for one year then entered the 2011 draft.Thompson averaged 13.1 points and 7.8 rebounds per game for the Texas Longhorns in 2010–11 as he won the team’s Most Valuable Player award, as voted on by his teammates. He was drafted by the Cavilers in the 2011 draft as the 4th pick. He would later win a championship with the Cleveland Cavilers in 2016.

Myles Turner

He is a 6 – foot 11 center.He played one season for the Texas Longhorns before declaring for the 2015 NBA draft and being selected by the Pacers with the 11th overall pick. Turner averaged 10.1 points, 6.5 rebounds and 2.6 blocks per game, earning 2015 Big 12 Freshman of the Year honors. He missed 21 games between November 13 and December 28 of his rookie season with the Pacers after undergoing surgery to repair a fracture in his left thumb. He has never won a championship, but every year him and his Pacers team is in the playoffs competing.

P.J Tucker

He is a 6 – foot 5 forward. He played 3 seasons with Texas before being drafted in 2006 as the 35th pick to the Toronto Raptors. In his three seasons at Texas, he scored 1,169 points, including a career-high 594 in the 2005–06 season. He also had 714 rebounds, 170 assists (including 107 in 2005–06), and 116 steals throughout his career. After being unable to play most of his sophomore season due to poor academics,Tucker was named a second-team All american and the Big 12 Player of the Year in his junior year.  had been designated as Toronto’s D-League affiliate for the 2006–07 season. On February 6, 2007, the Raptors recalled Tucker to the NBA. On March 6, 2007, Tucker was sent back to the 14ers. He would later get waived by the Raptors and go to the Cavilers summer camp.He played international basketball for 3 years where he one a MVP trophy. In 2012 he signed a two year deal with the Suns. He averaged 5.8 points per game, 6.2 rebounds and 1 assist. Later in 2017 he would go back and play for Toronto then the Houston Rockets. He has had his most success with the Houston Rockets. He only average 7 points 5 rebounds and 1 assist but his role is huge and he is a great defensive player. He has never won an NBA title but every year him and his Rockets are a top team in the west and are always in the playoffs.

The San Antonio Spurs. the Houston Rockets, and the Dallas Mavericks. these teams have had the glory of winning a championship. Basketball is alive and kicking in the state and if you’re in the Houston, Dallas or San Antonio region don’t forget to schedule some time to take in a game.

Football

. Football is one of the biggest sports in Texas. It is home to 2 NFL teams. The Houston Texans and the Dallas Cowboys. The cowboys have won 5 super bowls and is probably the most popular NFL team. Football is really popular and you can bet Around September a lot of football will be watched all around the world.

this is a list of some of the worst basketball players that were born in Texas. Some players might not be that bad but on the list they are.

1. Brian Skinner

He is a 6’9 255 lb center-forward from Temple TX. He was the 22nd pick of the 1998 NBA draft by the Los Angeles Clippers. As a rookie he averaged 8 points 8 rebounds and 2 blocks a game. not that bad but the worst on the list. He later was traded to the Portland Trailblazers then traded to the Milwaukee Bucks in the off season of 2006. After that he bounced around from team to team until being waived by the Memphis Grizzlies in 2011.

2. Don Slide

He was a 6’8 forward/center who played for the university of Oklahoma in 1965 to 1968. He was a good player in college averaging 23 points and 19 points per game in 1967-1968. He was the 29th pick in the 1968 draft. He played for many different teams. Such as , the Miami Flordians, Denver rockets, the Indiana Pacers, and the Memphis pros.
he averaged 13.5 points and 8.0 rebounds per game. then after that he went quiet and he retired from basketball.

Texas is the second biggest state in the united states. with that being said it has some of the best talent. So many good players don’t even make it to the NBA because of ho many people each year are trying to get there. But some of the stars of the NBA were born right here in Texas.

1. LaMarcus Aldridge

he is a 6’11 center that plays for the San Antonio spurs who was born in Dallas Tx. He played two seasons with the Longhorns before being drafted to the NBA in 2006. He played nine seasons with the Portland trailblazers before signing with the spurs in 2015. He is a 7 time all star and he has a lot of experience in the playoffs because the spurs go almost every year. And he is also known for his signature fade away jump shot.

2. Jimmy Butler

Jimmy Butler is a 6’8 shooting guard from Houston TX. He was kicked out by his mom when he was 13 and he was pretty much on his own then his friend’s mother took him in. Later on in life went to Tyler Junior College where he played and averages 18 points 8 rebounds and 3 assists. He was the 30th pick of the 2011 NBA draft and went to the Chicago bulls. He is a 4 time all star and 4 time All first NBA defensive team. Later on he went to play for the Timberwolves and would get into a alteration with players and his coach then went to play fot the 76ers who we curently playes for.

Texas is one of the biggest states in the united states. That means it has one of the largest populations, and with that comes a lot of talented basketball players.

South Garland (Garland, TX), and finally Will Baker Westlake (Austin, TX). And that goes to show that Texas is filled of a lot of talent. and a good percent of the NBA and NCAA is filled with texas players.
